INTRODUCING THE
Fighter
Strength of Arms is the primary style of the Fighter in Archwynd. The Fighter wades into battle with any weapon he can lay his hands on, dealing damage with the force of his attack.
Special Abilities When the Fighter goes first in the Initiative order, he may elect to Charge his opponent to take advantage of surprise and gain a bonus on his first Attack during that round of combat.
Armor The Fighter begins the game with an Armor Class of 16, due to breastplate. You may improve his Armor Class throughout the game by equipping him with upgrades that help make him harder to hit.
Weapons The Fighter begins the game with a simple dagger for a weapon. As you draw cards and collect treasure, equip him with upgrades such as the longsword, morningstar or longbow to improve his ability to hit monsters and deal damage to his foe.
Is the Fighter your choice? His aggressive style and ability to deal damage makes him a formidable champion defending the realm of Archwynd!

INTRODUCING THE
Ranger
Scouting is the primary style of the Ranger in Archwynd. Using his knowledge of the mountains, hills and forest, the Ranger tracks his opponents and uses his weapons to defend Archwynd from invaders.
Special Abilities The Ranger’s scouting ability gives him a bonus on determining Initiative when combat occurs. No slouch with weaponry, the Ranger is equally proficient with melee and ranged weapons.
Armor The Ranger begins the game with an Armor Class of 16, due to scale mail. You may improve his Armor Class throughout the game by equipping him with upgrades that help make him harder to hit.
Weapons The Ranger begins the game with a simple dagger for a weapon. As you draw cards and collect treasure, equip him with upgrades such as the longsword, morningstar or crossbow to improve his ability to hit monsters and deal damage to his foe.

INTRODUCING THE
Rogue
Stealth is the primary style of the Rogue in Archwynd. Using her speed and agility, she avoids being hit and uses her weapons to deal precise damage to the invaders of Archwynd.
Special Abilities The Rogue’s dexterity enables her to cherry-pick the best items and treasure, oftentimes from her fellow adventurers. She can’t help it! It’s simply her nature to want to be the best-equipped champion of Archwynd. Beware when the Rogue is one of your fellow adventurers!
Armor The Rogue is fast and light on her feet, eschewing heavy armor for simple studded leather, giving her freedom of movement. The Rogue begins the game with an Armor Class of 17. You may improve her Armor Class throughout the game by equipping him with upgrades that help make her harder to hit.

INTRODUCING THE
Sorceress

Special Abilities The Sorceress uses the dark arts of Magic to deal damage from afar with her Magic Missile attack! In addition, her Spell Book enables the Sorceress to both start the game and keep more cards in her hand than any other Character. These advantages balance her weakness in armor and strength of arms.
Armor The Sorceress does not start the game with armor, as it gets in the way of being nimble and quick with her magic. During the game, you may equip her with specialized items to boost her Armor Class, such as the Ring of Protection or Mithril Mail. Even without these items, the Sorceress is not one to be trifled with!
Weapons The Sorceress starts the game just like every other Character, with a dagger as a weapon. As you draw cards and collect treasure, equip her with upgrades such as spell scrolls and other magical effects — or even weapons like the crossbow. It’s your choice how the Sorceress defends Archwynd and herself.
Is the Sorceress your choice? She is a powerful magic user who can easily contend to be the final Champion of Archwynd!

The Enchantment of Roleplaying Games
What is a Roleplaying Game?
Roleplaying games (RPGs) are games where players assume the roles of characters in fictional settings. Guided by a set of rules and often a storyline, players navigate these worlds, making decisions that affect the game’s direction and outcome.
Why Play Roleplaying Games?
The allure of RPGs lies in their ability to transport players into fantastical worlds, offering an escape from reality. They foster creativity, strategic thinking, and collaborative storytelling. Players can experiment with different personas, make moral choices, and experience adventures they wouldn’t encounter in real life.
Dungeons & Dragons and Pathfinder: Pros and Cons
- Dungeons & Dragons (D&D): The granddaddy of RPGs, D&D is known for its depth, complex rule system, and rich lore. The downside can be its complexity and the time required to learn and play.
- Pathfinder: It offers a similar experience to D&D but with more customization options. This can be a double-edged sword, as it allows for highly tailored characters but can be overwhelming for new players.
Comparing Card-based RPGs to D&D and Pathfinder
Card-based RPGs, like Archwynd, streamline the roleplaying experience. They often have simpler rules and faster setup times, making them more accessible to new players or those looking for a quick game. Unlike the extensive preparation required for traditional RPGs, card games can offer immediate playability.
Why Play Archwynd?
Archwynd stands out with its immediate playability and ease of learning, requiring no Dungeon Master and offering quick, strategic gameplay. It’s an excellent choice for those seeking the thrill of RPGs without the extensive commitment of time and learning.
